The Secret to Boosting Revenue Per Visitor

Bundles and Offers Done Right. You're losing revenue not trying this!!!.

The newest release of CRO & PROFITS. And today it is all about - The real magic happens when you maximize Revenue Per Visitor (RPV). It’s the metric that separates high-performing stores from the rest.

Maximising revenue isn’t just about driving more traffic or obsessing over conversion rate—it’s about squeezing the most value out of every single visitor. That’s why focusing on Revenue Per Visitor (RPV) is the ultimate game-changer for CRO and eCommerce.

Recently, we implemented two strategies for two different clients, a custom bundle builder that boosted AOV by 35% and offer testing that unlocked $32,000 in additional monthly revenue, and the results speak for themselves.

Breaking Down the Bundle Builder That Boosted AOV by 35%

Bundles are one of the easiest ways to drive up Average Order Value (AOV), but only when done right. For one client, we created a custom Bundle Builder that crushed it. Let me break it down.

The Idea and the data used🧠

Looking at the data, we found two products that were often bought together. The problem? The buying journey didn’t make it easy for customers to pair them. That meant money was being left on the table. Our goal was simple: Make bundling these products seamless and upsell an accessory while we were at it.

The Solution

We built a Bundle Builder directly on the Product Detail Page (PDP)—just below the main CTA. It wasn’t static; it was built to be editable for every season. For example, we could call it the “Black Friday Bundle” in November or the “Christmas Special” in December.

Here’s how it worked:

1. Data-Driven Insights

• By analyzing order data, we saw exactly which products were frequently purchased together and created the bundle around that behavior.

2. Interactive, Customer-Friendly Design

• Below the CTA, customers could select their first product, choose their color, and then get prompted to pick the second product in the bundle.

3. Add More Value with Upsells

• After completing the bundle, we threw in a free accessory—an item we knew paired well with these products. The goal? Create a “no-brainer” value for customers.

The Results

📈 35% Increase in AOV

🔥 Huge Take Rate—customers loved how easy and personalised the experience felt.

Why did the customers love it?

Personalisation That Clicked - Customers loved being able to mix and match colors for their bundle.

Value on Display - The free accessory wasn’t just a bonus—it made the offer feel premium. It increases perceived value, leading to a lower CPA and a higher AOV & CVR.

Backed by Data - Every piece of the bundle builder was driven by real customer behaviour, which made it relevant and effective.

How Offer Testing Unlocked $32,624+ in Monthly Revenue

For another CRO client, we ran an offer test within the cart and it led to huge improvements. We honed in on upsells, freebies & cart thresholds to nudge customers into spending more, but this is through increasing the perceived value in what they were buying.

But, how did you come up with the idea you might ask? We based it off data, our knowledge in offers and what’s working right now.

We wanted to encourage customers to increase their cart value. The key was to make it worth their while by using smart, tiered incentives.

We designed a tiered cart incentive system that rewarded customers as their cart value increased 📈

1. Dynamic Tiered Incentives:

• Introduced three spending thresholds that rewarded customers as they added more to their cart:

£70: Unlock free shipping.

£80: Unlock free shipping + a free comb.

£85: Unlock free shipping, a free comb, and a free leopard vented brush.

2. Progressive Messaging:

• Added a progress bar at the top of the cart that dynamically displayed how close a customer was to the next reward.

• Messaging such as “You’re £5 away from unlocking a FREE comb” created urgency and excitement to increase cart value.

3. Seamless Integration of Rewards:

• Automatically added free gifts once thresholds were met, reducing friction and improving the user experience.

• Rewards were visually highlighted with their value clearly stated, enhancing the perceived benefit.

4. Clean and User-Centric Design:

• Removed clutter and focused on clarity, with a streamlined display of rewards and incentives.

• The cart design ensured that key information (like thresholds and benefits) was immediately visible.

The Results

📈 $32,000+ Additional Monthly Revenue

🔥 $387,000+ Projected Annual Revenue

Why It Worked:

1. Psychological Triggers 🤯

• The progress bar tapped into a sense of achievement and urgency, motivating customers to spend a little more to reach the next tier.

• Highlighting free gifts (e.g., the comb and vented brush) made customers feel they were getting a premium deal.

2. Perceived Value 💷

• Free shipping and practical gifts added tangible value, making higher cart values more appealing.

3. Seamless UX 🧑🏻‍🎨

• By automatically adding rewards, customers weren’t required to take extra steps, ensuring a frictionless shopping experience.

4. Clear Communication 🗣️

• The breakdown of thresholds and associated rewards left no ambiguity, ensuring customers understood the benefits instantly.
